I become more geeky with every passing day
August 18, 2005 – 10:17 pmI got my linux machine up and serving web pages tonight. This is not a huge milestone or anything, just something I’ve not had the resources for or taken the time to try before.
It’s just one more thing that I can tell people “yeah, I can do that”. Granted, I say that all the time about things I haven’t done, I’m just pretty sure I can do it. But this is one that I’ve actually done now.
Ubuntu linux made it pretty easy actually, which is what I wanted for now, given my extremely limited experience with linux. But I don’t think Ubuntu would be the way to go if I were to actually run a web server. It’s more of a desktop friendly linux. Now I suppose it’s time to start watching the distro list and find another version to break.
