Finally This And Finally That
February 19, 2006 – 11:58 amI finally finished putting together all of our new office furniture on Friday. It only took me three days, too. It’s really really nice. Here soon I’ll post a picture of it. Which brings me to my next point…
I finally got a new camera. I know, I mentioned it in my last entry. But that was just to point out that I had ordered it. It arrived via FedEx on Tuesday, and now I am actually the proud owner of a Nikon D200. It’s bigger, heavier and nicer than I expected. The transition from a fixed lens digital camera to a digital SLR has me a bit off balance. I’m just not used to the way it takes pictures. I am also not used to the sheer number of buttons on this damn thing. I have a four gigabyte compact flash card though, so I can take a few hundred pictures at a time. That should be plenty of practice to get me used to it.
By the way, I would like to congratulate Ryan and Destiny on their purchase of my Canon G5. It served me well for quite some time, but it was time for me to move on. The money from that sale will help me buy the SB-800 Speedlight and the MBD-200 Vertical Grip for the D200.
I finally upgraded this installation of MovableType from 3.17 to 3.2. There aren’t too many physical differences that I can see. The main things that stand out are the spam comment filtering and the multiple category selection method. Both were much needed improvements.
What else was there… Oh yes, I finally completed and deployed the NetData MailControl Pro machine at the office last week. We’ve had all email for the three local domains running through it. So far it’s ran without a hitch. We need to implement a database backup before we roll it out commercially though. I’m also still working on the custom NetData theme for Maia Mailguard.
Ok, time to shower and get my day started.
