Fence repairs and interior makeovers

August 13, 2005 – 7:45 pm

Our landlord’s husband, which happens to be Michele’s stepgrandfather was over today. He came over to repair the fence which our ex-landlord (which happens to be Michele’s mother) paid some guy she works with like $300, plus the cost of supplies, to put up. It’s by no means a big fence either. It extends out from the building about 9 feet and it’s about 25 feet long. The work he did is worth about $4.50.

Ernie and I basically rebuilt the entire gate. It seemed as if the Butterball that built the damn thing ran out of wood and just scraped something together out of leftovers. After the first week it was no longer of any use to us, except to keep us out of our own yard.

After a shower and some errands, Michele decides she wants to rearrange the computer room. Well, more precisely, she wanted me to do it. She just kinda stood on the side lines and watched me get incredibly frustrated. Now if I’m getting frustrated with something, I either A)would like some help, or B)would like to be left alone. Staring at me and condescending me for throwing things around like a two year old is the WORST possible thing anyone could do at that point. Anyway, the room has been rearranged and I have no complaints. And after she gets used to it, she won’t either.

With Michele upset and not really talking to me after the computer room makeover I had plenty of time to work on our respective websites. The core of my site is done. The Moveable Type installation is pretty much just the way I want it now. Her’s is off to a good start now as well.

Some friends of ours that are on a full blown US tour should be arriving in town tonight. They’ll only be here for a few days and I only really have the weekends to hang out. Wes just called and said that they were outside of Montgomery, Alabama which puts them here at about 10PM. Any later and hanging out is a no go. Even on the weekend. God I’m lame.
