A crock pot is a wonderful thing
August 20, 2005 – 8:29 pmA couple of weeks ago, Michele and I bought a nice chunk of meat to make a pot roast with in out new crock pot. A few days later I pulled it from the freezer and put it in the fridge to thaw out overnight so we could have pot roast for dinner the next day. I think Michele finally pulled it out of the fridge and threw it away two days ago.
Today I bought a new one. It skipped the freezer stage and is sitting in the fridge awaiting it’s doom tomorrow morning. The reason we never got around to making the last one is that we hadn’t thought to buy any of the extras that are required to make a pot roast. We had the meat and… that’s it.
This time around we did things right. I did a quick web search for a decent sounding recipe and we picked up all of the fixins while we did the grocery store thing today.
I am looking forward to a nice pot roast dinner tomorrow night with great anticipation. That and the house smelling wonderful all day long.
